Customizing and Configuring a Wooden Swing Set

When it comes to customizing a wooden swing, it's a very complex matter. First, consider where you'll be placing it—your backyard? A community playground? A commercial amusement park? Different settings have completely different requirements for a swing.

For home use, we recommend choosing a solid wood like teak or redwood, which are both durable and beautiful. As for size, a single-person swing should be 1.5 meters wide, while a double swing should be at least 2 meters wide for safety. A distressed finish is currently popular, like white paint with a subtle wood grain effect for a uniquely stylish look.

For commercial use, durability is crucial. We recommend using pine treated with an anti-corrosion treatment, with a non-slip finish, especially on the pedals. Our factory's swings for kindergartens feature rubber edging to protect children from bumps and bumps. Another tip: use stainless steel swing chains, which are at least three times more durable than iron chains.

As for configuration, the basic model consists of a frame and two chairs. For a more dramatic touch, you can add a sunshade to protect you from the summer sun. Some clients even request bells, which tinkle in the wind for a truly captivating effect. The most dramatic custom swing I've ever made is one with a Bluetooth speaker, allowing you to play music while swinging.

Safety details are crucial. It's recommended that the wooden swing be no higher than 2.5 meters from the ground, with a swing angle of no more than 30 degrees. All screws should be sealed with waterproof glue, and mortise and tenon joints are ideal for wood joints, as they're much stronger than simple screws. Last year, our factory built a swing for a resort with a half-meter-thick rubber mat underneath, ensuring it's safe from falls.

Customization typically takes 15-20 days, primarily spent on material selection and polishing. A cost-saving tip: If your budget is limited, you can customize just the swing seat and use an existing frame. Many parks now have unused swing frames that can be repurposed with a few modifications.
